Moore Street Triangle Garden

The Moore Street Triangle Garden is located at the split on Moore Street and River Road.  The Southport Garden Club has maintained this garden since at least the 1970’s when it was created to beautify an otherwise bare piece of land.  Travelers coming from the Fort Fisher and Bald Head Island Ferries as well as residents now enjoy the seasonal changes that this garden brings to life.

 In December 2023, the club received a grant from the National Garden Club Plant America Community Project for the renovation of the garden. The turf and existing planting beds were removed and new trees and shrubs chosen for sustainability and seasonal interest were added.  The perennial beds were reworked to provide an abundance of color.  The garden now incorporates a walking path with two newly added benches to complement the existing granite bench and unify the areas.
